Newkirk Graduate Student Fellow Awards
Funding for UCI graduate students from all disciplines for fellowships to support projects that engage the community in scientific knowledge-making, and research and projects that analyze the production of scientific knowledge and/or technological artifacts and systems. 74 fellowships have been awarded since inception with around $50,000 awarded annually.

The 2019-2020 Newkirk Fellowship application will be available in mid-April.

Starting in 2019-2020, the fellowship will be different than in previous years.

-The fellowship will be geared toward early career students (2-4th years).
-The fellowship will involve participating in training in community-based research methods.
-There will be a larger cohort of fellows and the award amount will be smaller.
