Through the Eyes of the Undocumented
A nice, easy stop-by at the Student Center when grabbing some lunch this week. Take a friend!

Dear Colleagues,
I hope this message finds you well as you reminisce upon the end of another academic year and prepare to say “see you later” to the graduating seniors.
I am writing to invite you to a beautiful art gallery organized by the Dreamers Advocate Program, part of the Student Outreach and Retention Center. Students had an intimate reception today but I encourage you to view the art made by our very own undocumented students on campus.
Through the Eyes of the Undocumented
Showing: June 5th – June 9th
Location: Viewpoint Gallery, Student Center
The gallery is also showcasing Halmoni (“Grandmother”), a documentary that follows an undocumented Korean activist as he struggles to understand his own identity and the deep sense of responsibility he feels towards his family.
I hope you have an opportunity to experience students’ worlds through their art.
Best,

Fun News…….Step Up UCI Team Libraries Winner!!
Our very own Team Libraries, along with UCI “Pediatric Hi-Steppers,” has won the campus-wide 2016-17 Step Up UCI team challenge raffle (a UCI sweatshirt for each team member!). We qualified for the UCI sweatshirt raffle in a field of 6 out of 30 UCI teams who registered.
What a great testament to all team members for keeping up with the walking and the logging of steps from October 2016 through January 2017! Our team logged a combined total of 13, 304, 386 steps, pretty cool.
Cheers to this year’s Team Libraries, led by our esteemed captain, Debbie Kreuziger, for Step Up UCI 2016-17:
Becky Imamoto, Chris Torrey, Cindy Tyan, Debbie Kreuziger, Jeff Schneidewind, Jessie Brobst, John Renaud, Kathryn Jeon, Lisa Shoup, Lynda Rogers, Mandy Caiyod, Pamela Gordon, Sheree Baugh
And if you have been walking on your own and logging your steps, remember that you still earn the Step Up UCI t-shirt for reaching 750,000 steps!!!
Go Libraries!
