The diversities webpage hosts a curated list of new acquisitions relating to diversity. Located on the library’s GoodReads account, these selections are updated on a semi-regular basis, as new materials are added to ANTPAC.
We’ve just recently created/implemented this list, and we hope that it’s useful in highlighting the library’s collections. Here in the Cataloging and Metadata Services department, we have just cataloged The New Woman (University Archives, LD781.I7 N487), a publication of the Dean of Students Office (through 1974) and subsequently the Office of Student Affairs and the Educational Support Services and Student Affairs Office. My attention was drawn to the efforts of then-librarians Doris New, Judith Stanley and Dottie Tucker:
Thanks to Doris, Judith and Dottie for getting the work of the Diversity Team started in the 1970s! We would like to echo their sentiments about responding to ‘felt and expressed needs’ and welcoming ideas.
