Hi all,
As we swing into the Spring quarter, keep your eye out for the following upcoming diverse campus activities and events –
- UCI’s first Dance, Drum, and DeColonization Lecture and Workshop Series, April 14 – April 27 –DDD provides FREE workshops OPEN to the entire UCI Community, encouraging students, staff, and faculty alike to participate in immersive embodied practices from dance and drum masters that hail from across the world.
- Join UCI’s First Generation Staff Initiative group – https://eee.uci.edu/survey/FirstGenStaff. Contact Joanna Hernandez at joanna.hernandez@uci.edu for questions.
- Check out The Material of Memory: Revisiting Our Histories of Immigration, currently on exhibit (through Friday, April 7) in the Viewpoint Gallery, outside the entrance to the Crystal Cove auditorium in the Student Center. Our very own, Derek Quezada, worked closely with Dr. Ana Elizabeth Rosas (Chicano/Latino Studies) and the students who took her “Histories of Violence Across the US-Mexico Borderlands” and “Introduction to Latina/o Studies” classes last Fall to create this multimedia exhibit.
So many unique opportunities to choose from. If you participate in one of these events/activities, make sure to share your experience on the blog!
