Westside Reg Ctr Ethiopian Parents of Special Needs Children – Support Group

This support group focuses on various challenging issues that Ethiopian families face once their child has been identified with special needs. The objective of this group is to support each other, share experiences, empower families, educate and inform families of resources, and become an organized community base resource.

Autumn S. Ivy, MD, PhD – Pediatric Neurology (Orange)

Clinical interests include: autism, autism spectrum disorder, neurocognitive disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders and pediatric neurology.

Kristen Joyner, PsyD (Santa Ana)

Dr. Joyner has a strong passion for providing family-centered developmental assessment and intervention services to children and families birth to six. She has extensive experience and training in providing dyadic models of intervention to children with presenting problems including exposure to trauma, foster care placement, behavioral challenges, autism spectrum disorder, and other neurodevelopmental disabilities.

Tina R Amstrong Psychologist, PhD, MA, EdM (Online)

I am a licensed clinical psychologist who provides ADHD, gifted and learning disability testing and specializes in providing therapy to Black women. I approach treatment from a holistic perspective, recognizing the importance of engaging the mind, body and spirit.

Amaris Avellan, MA (Online)

As a therapist, I place priority in creating a therapy environment where clients feel safe to share the most authentic versions of themselves without fear of judgement.  My areas of focus include psychological assessment, counseling therapy with pediatric, adolescent and adult clients, and African American psychology for clients with autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, learning disabilities, blended families, and military or veteran related stressors.

I am a General Practice Clinical Counselor; with experience providing therapeutic services to a wide & diverse population, including but not limited to: children, adults, individuals living with Autism, individuals living with depression, behavioral disorders, homelessness, career planning, anxiety, peer relations, self actualization, and sports performance.​

Michele Ocen, Ph.D. Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Michele Ocen is a licensed psychologist and board -certified behavior analyst with expertise in diagnosis, social-communication development, and early intervention for autism spectrum and other neurodevelopmental conditions. Dr. Ocen has extensive training and experience in the Early Start Denver Model, applied behavior analysis, parent coaching, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and social skills groups. She is certified in a number of evidence-based therapies, including the Early Start Denver Model and the PEERS young adult social skills program. She is dedicated to providing family-centered, evidenced-based, and quality clinical care to children and families.
