It all begins with sharing your ideas.

We’re using the HypeInnovation Idea Management System as a platform for sharing, refining, and reviewing ideas.  UCI HR has licensed HypeInnovation to power their Bright People, Brilliant Solutions initiative – and they’ve offered OIT to use the same platform for Accelerating Innovation.  If it all works out, the platform may be expanded for lots of others on campus to use with crowd-sourcing ideas.

HypeInnovation automatically saves everything as you type.  It has many advanced features, but the basics are pretty easy.

  • Create an idea just by giving it a name and a brief description – it’s now in the system
  • Select “Submit” at the bottom of the form and others can see it
  • Edit the idea to add a picture and enter more of the info on the Idea Form
    • Collaborate with others to refine the idea – as the idea creator, only you can edit the info
    • Fill out as much of the info in the form as you think is needed
    • Make sure to identify any resources that may be required to implement the idea
  • Select “Ready for Evaluation” and it will be reviewed/evaluated by a team of OIT colleagues who are helping operate the program

Ideas will be curated, and any out-of-scope ideas may be removed (in consultation with the idea creator).
