Collaborate

Accelerating Innovation is about collaborating. Collaborating to discuss, refine, and implement ideas. Collaborating to spark innovative ideas with others and collaborating to create your own ideas based on what others are doing.

As a collaborator you can review ideas submitted by others, vote-up the ones you like, provide useful comments/suggestions, and reach out to them directly to offer more collaborative help.

There are many ways to collaborate and we’re not trying to force any one mechanism or process. We encourage you to use MS Teams (including the Accelerating Innovation channel in the OIT Team), Zoom, email, phone, face-to-face, brown bag lunches and any other tools or approaches to work with others.  The OIT Innovation Channel in Hype also has some available tools, but you can use whatever works best for you and your colleagues.

We encourage collaboration across groups in OIT divisions. Feel free to collaborate with anyone you think can be helpful and don’t be shy in reaching out to people you may not know.

Work with the idea’s creator to help refine the idea and they’ll be able to tag it as ready for evaluation once you’ve helped make it better.

Keep in mind that we all have important work to do, so we need to keep our manager(s) informed about what we’re doing – they can also help strengthen and advance great ideas.
