Crossbow I: A Pacific proa owned by Sir Timothy Colman of Great Britain. Crossbow I held the world 500 meter sailing speed record of 31.10 knots until 1975 when Crossbow II, a catamaran also owned by Sir Timothy Colman, took the record.

Vestas Sailrocket 2: Designed and built to break the world sailing speed record. The craft was commanded by Paul Larsen of Australia. The first 500 meter record-breaking event of this craft occurred on November 18, 2012 when it reached a speed of 59.23 knots. On November 24, 2012, Vestas Sailrocket 2 traveled at 65.45 knots, becoming the fastest oceangoing sailcraft in the world and breaking all previous 500 meter records including its own. This record is sanctioned by the World Sailing Speed Record Council (WSSRC).
