The Parsons Lab is a research lab situated in the Natural Sciences II building in the heart of the University of California, Irvine (UCI) campus. UCI is located in Irvine a mere five miles from the beach and the Pacific Ocean. The lab is in the department of Developmental and Cell Biology (DevCell), which is in the School of Biological sciences (BioSci). DevCell is an exciting home as this department contains such diverse research interests that ranges from embryology to cancer biology. The Parsons Lab runs its own dedicated fish facility – conveniently housed in the same building. There are several labs at UCI that utilize the zebrafish as a model system and we share an aquatics facility with three of them; namely the labs of Travis Wiles, Tom Schilling and Dae Seok Eom
