PGY-2 Informatics

 

Program Overview & Goals

The PGY2 Pharmacy Informatics and Automation residency at UC Irvine Health is a year-long training program, specializing in pharmacy automation technology and informatics. The PGY2 Informatics resident will receive formal Epic EHR training. The resident will work as a full-time member of the Pharmacy Automation and Technology team to gain experience in optimizing automated dispensing cabinets, infusion pumps, Epic orders, etc. By the end of the PGY2 residency year, the resident will be proficient in pharmacy automation technology and information systems. The PGY2 Pharmacy Informatics and Automation program is currently applying for ASHP-accreditation.

Requirements:

  • Be a PharmD graduate from an ACPEaccredited pharmacy school or college.
  • Be enrolled in or have successfully completed a PGY1 residency
  • Complete a personal, onsite interview with the residency program director, select preceptors and residents.
  • Be licensed to practice pharmacy in California by November 1st.
  • Successfully complete a background check.
  • Successfully complete the preemployment process, which includes, but is not limited to, verification of all required licenses and certifications, including meeting the U.S. Office of Inspector General requirements and proof of a legal right to work in the United States.
  • Successfully complete a postoffer physical exam, which includes a physical, drug and alcohol screen, and a TB test.

Benefits 

  • Salary: approximately $81,000/year (may vary)
