Process of Election

The Physics Graduate Caucus holds elections every year. We assess which positions will become or already are vacant and hold a formal election process to fill the positions. In the Dept. of Physics and Astronomy voter turnout and the number of election candidates if often on the low. Yet we seek to have a fair and organized process for electing new officers to PGC.

Any person that is interested in filling a vacant position need only fill out the Election Candidate Submission Form below and include the desired vacant position(s). Submissions must be sent at the end of Week 7 of the Spring Academic Quarter by Friday, May 17th 2019 at 5:00PM Pacific Time.

After the submission deadline, all interested individuals and submissions will be considered. If an officer position only has one interested individual then upon approval from the current board of officers and the interested individual the individual will be appointed rather than elected. If there is more than one interested individuals then upon approval of the current board of officers and the interested individuals there will either be a formal election during Week 9 of the Spring Academic Quarter or the positions will be split into Co- positions.

No matter the situation all interested individuals will have a fair and equal chance to participate as an officer. At any point during this process if there are any conflicts of issues then an election will take place no matter the situation.
