The Sound of Music

The Sound of Music comes to the Segerstrom Center of the Arts Theatre from July 20 – July 31. Tickets start at $29.

The Hills Are Alive in this brand new production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC, directed by three-time Tony Award®-winning Director Jack O’Brien. The spirited, romantic and beloved musical story of Maria and the von Trapp family will once again thrill audiences with its Tony®,- Grammy®- and Academy Award®-winning Best Score, including “My Favorite Things,” “Do-Re-Mi,” “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “Edelweiss” and the title song.”

The OC Fair is back July 15 – Aug 14. On July 21, Andy Grammer, best known for his singles “Keep Your Head Up” and “Fine By Me”, and Rachel Platten, best known for her singles “Fight Song” and “Stand By You”, are performing at the Pacific Amphitheatre at the OC Fair. Tickets start at $32.50.

Irvine Escape Room

Think you can escape from a room under an hour?

Irvine’s Square Room Escape located on Jamboree tests those who dare to enter a list of puzzles, riddles and coded clues in a way to escape. This game is for 3 – 6 users and tickets are $29 per person where you can choose either the “Sorcerer’s Study” or “The Phantom Soldier” to escape from. Good luck!

Shakespeare Under the Stars!

Whether you’re a tried-and-true fan of William Shakespeare or someone with limited knowledge of his work, you’ll want to consider attending UCI’s summer event series, Shakespeare Under the Stars.

Located in the new open-air theatre in Gateway Commons, the New Swan,  Shakespeare Under the Stars is a summer festival celebrating some of the best of Shakespeare in a unique setting.

Contemporary versions of two of Shakespeare’s best will be featured:
Comedy of Errors:  August 9, 10, 11, 23, 25, and 26
The Merchant of Venice:  August 16, 17, 18, 19, 22, and 24

Tickets are still available for a handful of performances at the Arts Box Office (949.824.2787) and online.Ticket Prices: Adults: $15;  Seniors 62+, Children under 17, Students and Groups of 10+:  $9 each.
