Students will have the opportunity to work closely with faculty who study language from a variety of perspectives and will learn a range of behavioral, neuroscience and computational methods, develop skills in data analysis, scientific writing and public speaking, and conduct work in settings where learners and learning environments differ.

PIRE fellows participating in the undergraduate travel program will spend an academic quarter abroad conducting language science research at one of our  PIRE partner sites in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. The program covers research-related expenses, provides tuition assistance during the quarter off-campus, and covers travel costs associated with visiting the PIRE partner site . While travel restrictions are in place (due to the pandemic) undergraduate PIRE fellows will conduct a 10-week research project over the summer session and participate in remote collaboration with our PIRE faculty and partners. Summer PIRE fellows received a receive stipend for their participation during the summer and the program covers research-related expenses.

The PIRE program also provides support for graduate students interested collaborating with our PIRE partners. Please contact the PIRE project manager for further information.
