Customer and Market Discovery
Workshop with Gil Kim/PM at McKinsey
When: May 24th, 4-6PM
Where: SB1- 2321
About Speaker: Gil is a product manager at McKinsey. He previously worked at WeedMaps, ROKO Labs, and BlackRock as a product manager and is experienced building products across the healthcare, real-estate, e-commerce, podcasting, and food delivery industry. Gil became a product manager after graduating undergrad as a chemical engineer and working on Wall St. as an FX broker for many years.
About Event: While you may have learned the frameworks needed to build a product and the structures used to conduct interviews, the absence of contextual examples often make it difficult to visualize yourself using these concepts. In this talk, Gil will share how he was able to utilize concepts such as Porter’s five forces, Blue Ocean strategy, and Lean methodologies to bring his projects to life across his various roles. Additionally, Gil will answer any questions you may have on what to expect in your role as a product manager along with its challenges and expectations. If you are still looking for an internship, this workshop will help you to ace case interviews; if you are lucky to have one already, Gil will help you to be successful during the summer.
