Our Story

The Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics & Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) has recently approved the SACNAS chapter here at UC Irvine! This is a very exciting time for the chapter, we are currently recruiting enthusiastic members dedicated to diversifying STEM participation.

SACNAS as an organization is “dedicated to fostering the success of Chicano/Hispanic and Native Americans scientists, from college students to professionals, in attaining advanced degrees, careers, and positions in of leadership in STEM,” (visit the SACNAS National Webpage). SACNAS at UCI aims to emulate those goals along with establishing a sense of community, providing access to professional development, and eventually creating opportunities for K-12 outreach.
