Description:

In 1978, the Deutschen Bergben Museum found a fragment of a pitcher handle in the ruins of the ancient village of Kighal, East Azarbaijan, Iran with a Middle Persian inscription. Gropp dates it to the 3rd or 4th century based on its inscription. The inscription reads: ‘wstlky –/awestarag/– (razor?) or ‘spwlky –/aspurag/  which is probably a personal name, Aspurag.
