Oracle has released a security update to Java that includes fixes for approximately twenty security vulnerabilities. The updated version is JDK/JRE 6 Update 29 (also listed as 1.6.0_29). Updates are available for Windows, Solaris, and Linux. (Note that Apple provides Java updates for Mac OS.)
Almost all of the twenty security vulnerabilities fixed by this update are remotely exploitable while requiring no authentication. As such, Java has become a popular method of exploiting a computer. Be sure to update your Java installation(s) as soon as possible.
This release is available for both server and workstation installations
of Java. Java can be updated via the included Java Updater
or at http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp
