Oracle has released a security update to Java that includes fixes for approximately fourteen security vulnerabilities. The updated version is JDK/JRE 6 Update 33 or JDK/JRE 7 Update 5. Updates are available for Windows, Solaris, and Linux. (Note that Apple provides Java updates for Mac OS.)
Java has become a popular method of exploiting a computer, so be sure to update your Java installation(s) as soon as possible (after testing the update with any mission critical Java applications you may use).
This release is available for both server and workstation installations of Java. Java can be updated via the included Java Updater or at http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp
