She and her team of post-doctorate, graduate, post-baccalaureate, and undergraduate students are committed to the study of personal and collective traumatic events and their psychological impact on individuals and communities.

- Psychological responses to natural disasters, acts of terrorism, and other collective traumas (such as the COVID-19 pandemic)
- Transmission of psychological distress across the news media
- Transmission of distress and responses to collective trauma on social media
