Please join us for “California Modern: Irvine Style,” the fifth in a wide-ranging series of symposia sponsored by UCI as part of the university’s 50th anniversary celebration.

Fifty years ago, William Pereira designed the original campus of UC Irvine. Beginning on Monday, April 18, 2016, a symposium and accompanying suite of exhibits will examine the history of UCI’s master plan and the city of Irvine in relation to American modernism, higher education and early 1960s Utopianism. The aim is to define Pereira’s legacy and influence on contemporary developments in campus architecture and urbanism. The symposium and related events all take place at the UCI Student Center.
