Learning Assistants

The Learning Assistants program, supported by DTEI, is an organized program of peer facilitation, which has been found to increase student learning in physics, particularly for women and minorities. Programs like these also increase the content knowledge of the tutors. Learning Assistants are more effective than other undergraduate, in-class support (eg. Peer Tutors or Lab Assistants), because they are required to complete a full quarter of pedagogical training.


The Learning & Academic Resource Center advances academic success through proven active learning strategies, peer-to-peer collaboration, campus partnerships and leadership development.

LARC connects “what to learn” with “how to learn” in a student-centered, collaborative learning experience.
