Shahrdad Lotfipour, Ph.D.
Dr. Shahrdad Lotfipour is the Director of the UC Irvine Behavioral Testing Core. He is an assistant professor of emergency medicine and pharmaceutical sciences. Dr. Lofftiour is a translational addiction biologist interested in the (i) mechanisms influencing drug use, and (ii) therapeutic interventions that could help with cessation.

Brian Timmerman, Ph.D.
Dr. Brian Timmerman, our new Behavioral Core manager, holds a Ph.D. from Wayne State University and boasts a valuable research record in behavioral neuroscience. His work covers diverse topics, from neonatal stress effects on neurogenesis to the therapeutic potential of cannabidiol. Brian has authored relevant publications, demonstrated teaching prowess, and actively contributed to lab management, showcasing his dedication to advancing knowledge and fostering a collaborative research environment.

Henry Nadeali
Henry Nadeali is a dedicated undergraduate researcher in our lab, currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Henry’s previous roles as a hospital volunteer and barista have developed his exceptional problem-solving abilities and a strong work ethic. Known for his dedication and diligence, Henry’s proactive approach and commitment to hard work make him an indispensable part of our research team

Ariadna Maksin
Ariadna Maksin, a high-achieving student at Princeton Day School, has joined our lab as a summer intern. She has excelled in advanced courses like Biology, Chemistry, and Neuroscience, and brings research experience from the Booth Lab at UC San Francisco. Ariadna has also been involved in teaching and community service, including assisting in an online AP Literature course and volunteering at music camps. Her passion for science, combined with her commitment to the arts, makes her a valuable addition to our research team.
