Next Generation Undergraduate Success Measurement Project
September 2019 – September 2023
The UCI-MUST measurement system was developed with the support of a 1.5 million dollar grant from the Andrew Mellon Foundation. The Foundation was particularly interested in developing improved undergraduate measurement to explore the value of a liberal arts education.

UCI Institutional Support
September 2021 – Present
Beginning in 2021, the MUST Project has received support from the Office of the Vice Provost of Teaching and Learning for ongoing data collection to improve institutional performance and advance educational equity.

Anteater Virtues Project
2022 – Present
In 2022, the John Templeton Foundation provided a $1 million dollar grant to UCI to develop the Anteater Virtues Project, an educational initiative designed to cultivate intellectual virtues in undergraduates. The grant allocated resources to UCI-MUST researchers to measure intellectual virtues and to evaluate program impact.

UCI-LIFTED
September 2022 – Present
UCI-MUST research has supported data collection on undergraduates in the Leveraging Inspiring Futures Through Educational Degrees (LIFTED), the first in-prison BA-degree program in the UC system. Beginning in 2024, the U.S. Bureau of Justice Assistance has provided financial support to expand the UCI-LIFTED program and for UCI-MUST researchers to monitor program performances.

College-to-Career Project
January 2024 – Present
Strada Education Foundation and the Ascendium Education Group have combined to provide $2 million dollars in grant support for the College to Career Project, which seeks to improve understanding of student career exploration, preparation, internships, job search, and early career outcomes. This effort also seeks to enhance career service utilization, promote equitable programming, and improve college support for students transitioning to the labor market.
