This is Richard Rorty. He made some pretty significant contributions to American philosophy. But we’re not here to talk about that. (Not now, anyway.)
Instead, let’s take a peek at the musings of an 8 year old Richard Rorty. Enjoy a small sample of his writings dated 1939-1944. (FYI, he was born in 1931.) We’re taking it way back!
P.S. Did you know he enrolled at the University of Chicago, just before his 15th birthday in 1946? Then received his Bachelor’s in 1949?
There’s more where these came from! All materials are from the Richard Rorty Papers [MS-C017]. The collection includes digital files transferred from Rorty’s computer disks and made available to researchers electronically at UCIspace @ the Libraries.
This collection was received as a gift of Richard Rorty in 2006.
