The Guide to the Southeast Asian Archive Collection of Serials (MS-SEA047) is now available through the Online Archive of California (OAC). The collection contains over 400 titles published in North American, European, and Southeast Asian countries. The serials have been added to the archive’s vertical files. Each title contains four or fewer issues and is listed in the finding aid’s collection contents. A sampling of the types of publications can be seen below:
This serials collection may be used in The Southeast Asian Archive Reading Room located on the 3rd floor of the Langson Library, which houses the books, journals, magazines, newspapers, and vertical files from the archive. Cataloged books may be checked out here to those with a UCI library card.
Archival collections from the Southeast Asian Archive may be accessed in the Elizabeth and Verle Annis Reading Room on the 5th floor. Digital materials are available through SEAAdoc, a digital collection containing 1,500 visual images and 4,000 pages of searchable text selected from the Archive, as well as OAC and UCIspace @ the Libraries.
You can follow the Southeast Asian Archive on Facebook, where our new Archivist for the Southeast Asian Archive & Regional History, Dr. Thuy Vo Dang, shares exciting news from the archive and happenings in the local community. Check out her weekly post “SEAA it!” (Southeast Asian Archive interesting things), which features a new item from our collection found online or in our reading room.
