UCI Science Project is grounded in research-based educational practices and understands the paradigm shifts needed for the Next Generation Science Standards. Our goal is to support educators as transformative leaders who build capacity in their schools through empowering learning experiences. We are firmly committed to addressing racial, social, and environmental injustices through collaborative efforts that position educators as agents of change for community action.

UCI Science Project is part of the Center for Educational Partnerships and the CA Subject Matter Programs.

We can work with your school site to support implementation of adopted materials, review curricula for NGSS alignment, co-construct district pacing plans, offer professional development catered to your site needs, or support your science educators in the classroom through lesson studies and sustained partnerships.

NGSS Tiered Certification Programs

Take part in our tiered programs to become a NGSS certified teacher in science and equity!

We are excited to support you in taking on the NGSS to better understand and apply the framework to your teaching practices and curriculum. Join a cohort of teachers to deconstruct the framework while engaging in research-based practices to continue building your capacity as an equity and justice-centered educator.

*Salary credits available for purchase upon completion.

Featured Collaborations

Together with The Ocean Agency, we are working to bring teachers amazing resources centered on the United Nations Ocean Literacy Principles coupled with equity in science practices! These resources include teaching toolkits, a teacher resource portal, deep professional development, and investigative storylines centered on phenomena from around the world to better understand the role and importance of our one ocean.

We are beyond thrilled to partner with Anaheim Union High School District to help bring the Magnolia Agriscience Community Center (MACC) to life for students and the community. Collaborating with UCI researchers across various departments to create 21st century experiences for nearly 30,000 students, we are excited to help students learn about the Environmental Principles and Concepts (EP&Cs) and be more informed decision makers about environmental topics.
