Asian American Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy

unnamed-6unnamed-5November 6, 2014

Dr. Thuy Vo Dang and Tram Le attended the Asian American Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy (AAPIP) annual convening in Oakland, California on November 6 to represent Vietnamese In Philanthropy (VIP) started by the Vietnamese American Community Ambassadors (VACA), an alumni association at UC Irvine.

With only 0.04% of foundation grants going to Asian American non-profit organizations, there needed to be an intervention through grass-roots campaigns called “Giving Circles.”  With 42 Giving Circles across the nation, VIP is the first one in Orange County and the first one started by Vietnamese Americans.  If you are interested in joining our philanthropy group, please email tramleuci@gmail.com.
