About Me

Victoria Ciudad-Real is a sociology doctoral student at UC Irvine’s School of Social Sciences. Her research explores poverty, immigration, and Latinx families using mixed methods. As a graduate student researcher at the UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center, Victoria has played a key role in community-engaged research, including survey design, data analysis, and research translation. Her dissertation will examine housing insecurity and access to the U.S. social safety net among low-income Latine tenants in Southern California.

A proud daughter of Salvadoran immigrants and a local to Southern California, Victoria is committed to using research and data to drive public policy and social change. Victoria completed her undergraduate education in Public Policy and Global Studies from UC Riverside and holds a Master’s of Public Policy from the USC Price School of Public Policy. Before pursuing her PhD, she served as a Project Manager at the USC Price Center for Social Innovation, where she led research projects on housing insecurity, economic inclusion, and workforce development.
