RE: Community-Wide Exterior Ant Treatment on May 23, 2017

To control for ants throughout Verano Place, Western Exterminators will be applying Termidor to the bottom two feet of all building exteriors on May 23, 2017. Work will begin at 9:00am. The buildings were last treated in 2006 and ants have been effectively controlled for 10 years. However, over the past year, there has been a significant increase in requests to treat apartments for ants. If there is rain on the service day the treatment will be rescheduled. A second application will be performed in October.

All apartments on the first floor of any building will need to prepare: Any personal items that are at ground-level must be removed or placed at least 3 feet away from the building the day before treatment. Pay particular attention to the front entry to the apartment and ground-level patio areas. The work is scheduled for one day only; your cooperation is needed to insure a timely application. If there is rain on the service day the treatment will be rescheduled.

All doors and windows need to be closed while the spray is being applied and until it is dry. Product drying time is no longer that 15 to 30 minutes depending on the weather conditions Signs will be posted in the area being sprayed as the technicians move from one area to another. Start and completion times for each set of apartments will be e-mailed as the work progresses.

Termidor will be applied to only the exterior foundation walls; no application will occur inside the apartments. Termidor is water-based, will not leach through soil, and is not damaging to soil micro-organisms, earthworms and plants. The chemical controls ants directly and indirectly. Ants pick it up as they pass over the treated area on the exterior of the buildings and then spread it when they come in contact with other ants in the nest. Reduction in ant activity will be noticed in one to three days and control of most species will occur in about a week.
