WordPress released an update today that addresses some security vulnerabilities. Updated versions of WordPress 4.9 and older releases are also available, for users who have not yet updated to 5.0.
This release includes some huge changes to the editor. WordPress is now using Gutenberg, a block-based editor as the default. If you or your clients prefer to stick with the classic editor, there is a Classic Editor plugin which will remain in WordPress through 2021.

WordPress 4.9.5 was released yesterday (April 3, 2018). This is a security and maintenance release.
A maintenance release of WordPress came out on Monday, February 5. On Tuesday, February 6, they released 4.9.4 which fixed a bug created in 4.9.3. Neither release includes security fixes, however to receive future security updates automatically you will need to update to 4.9.4.
