Dr. Elizabeth Hemming-Schroeder will be leaving Yan lab and UC Irvine for a faculty position at Colorado State University. We are excited about her taking this position in Colorado. Yan Lab family appreciates her valuable contribution to our lab in the past several years. Congratulations, Liz!

Welcome Randy David to Dr. Yan lab
We are pleased to welcome Dr. Randy David to join Yan lab. Dr. David graduated from University of Kansas. He mainly worked on “Genetic Stratification and Haplotype Diversity in Urban Peruvian Amazonia” during his PhD period. His main research interests are genetic epidemiology, population genetics, anthropological genetics, functional genomics, epigenetics, biostatistics, complex disease, tropical disease, metabolic disease, peopling/migration events and ethnography. Randy David joined Dr. Yan’s lab today, Sept. 10, 2019, as a postdoc fellow.
ICEMR 2019 Annual Workshop
The International Centers of Excellence for Malaria Research (ICEMR) 2019 Annual Workshop has been hosted by our Sub-Saharan Africa ICEMR at the capital city of Kenya from July 24 to 26, 2019. More than 130 participants attended this workshop, and presented latest malaria research findings and developments funded by NIH ICEMR program.
