Research Opportunity: Experimental Social Science Laboratory

Prof. John Duffy (, Director of the Experimental Social Science Laboratory (ESSL) at UCI, is looking for 2-4 students to enroll in his ECON 199 independent research course starting Fall quarter. Students in the course assist in conducting behavioral experiments and help test new experimental software. They are also invited to attend the weekly ESSL lunch seminars where graduate students and professors present on current or proposed experimental economics research. Research Opportunity: Sarnecka Cognitive Development Lab

The Sarnecka Cognitive Development Lab is currently accepting applications for research assistants for the upcoming academic year. We are looking for motivated and responsible undergraduates who either want to get experience with psychological research, or would like to get experience working with children, or both! Duties will involve traveling to preschools and local museums to assist in data collection, data entry, and occasionally, assistance with stimulus construction. All research assistants must have at least 2 mornings a week free to go test at preschools or museums, and must be able to attend our lab meeting (Fridays at 2PM). All research assistants get 4 units of course credit through enrolling in Cog Dev Research (PSY 148A). Please email Emily Sumner ( for more information!

UCI Saturday Academy of Law is hiring Teaching Assistants

UC Irvine School of Law is deeply committed to diversity in the legal profession. The Saturday Academy of Law (“SAL”) is an opportunity to expose a diverse group of students to the legal profession while helping them improve their reading, writing, and critical thinking skills.

Currently, we are looking for dedicated undergraduate students to serve as
 Teaching Assistants to help facilitate the lesson plan for the students. In the classroom, students learn a series of Supreme Court Cases pertaining to First Amendment rights in school and evaluate a hypothetical case at the end of the session. Students and TA’s also have the opportunity to network with local lawyers and judges who present to the class.

Calling all honors students who are conducting research but are not participating in a school/departmental honors program! Get individualized support during the honors thesis process from CHP Director Ted Wright. During this research seminar you will learn about the research process and work to create a research plan as well as an abstract or prospectus that can become the basis for your introduction.
This 2-unit research course will be offered as University Studies H176A, and graded as Pass/Not Pass. It is currently scheduled for Wednesdays 2:00-3:50 p.m., however, the schedule may be adjusted to accommodate your schedule.

A Career Group is targeted towards students that are undecided in their career path. Facilitated by a career counselor, these highly interactive groups meet three times and focus on self-discovery. Participants should be comfortable actively participating in group discussions. Students engage in activities to explore their interests and values to help generate potential career interests.
