Professor Charis Kubrin (Criminology, Law and Society), together with graduate student, Adam Dunbar, have designed a set of three experiments to test assumptions in the criminal prosecution of rap artists based on lyrics. They propose to test stereotypes about rap music, assess the relationship between rap and race in criminal case, and assess the impact of rap lyrics as evidence.
