Areas of interests: Analytical Chemistry, Atmospheric Chemistry, Mass Spectrometry, Air Sampling, New Particle Formation and Growth
I earned a B.S. in Chemistry (with a minor in Natural Sciences) and a M.S. in Analytical Chemistry. I received my Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences from the University Aix-Marseille I, France in 2007. I have been working on many projects in the Finlayson-Pitts research group since April 2008 including ‘new particle formation’ studies from methanesulfonic + amines + water systems, studies on growth processes of secondary organic aerosols from alpha-pinene reaction with ozone and nitrate radicals, as well as developing new analytical tools. I love solving challenging analytical problems and blogging about how cool science can be (ChemBlog)!!
Principal Investigator since August 2019 on a three-year NSF award seeking to look at new particle formation from methanesulfonic acid (CH3S(O)(O)OH) reactions with simple and complex amines, ammonia and organics under various conditions representative of the atmosphere.
