The Blum Center for Poverty Alleviation has launched a new initiative that might interest CHP students.
Small Change, Better World offers one-time grants of up to $3,000 to support concrete, finite student projects addressing poverty. Proposal deadline is March 25 for projects being implemented in Spring 2018.
Our thought is that there are plenty of ways that students can actively make a difference through relatively small projects, such as purchasing school supplies for one of the Global Service Scholars sites in Peru, repairing a roof on a community center, or replacing stolen musical instruments. Projects can be focused locally or abroad, and should be achievable within a short period of time (such as 1 quarter or semester).

As of now it is only open to UCI students, but we are working to expand it to the other UC campuses soon.
If your students have any questions, they can contact us directly at blumcenter@uci.edu.
