It is my pleasure to once again announce the Chancellor’s Award of Distinction, a student recognition program intended to acknowledge UCI’s most outstanding graduating seniors. The Chancellor’s Award recognizes undergraduate students who have shown exemplary character, devoting their time and talents to benefit the campus community through research, leadership or service.
This award will honor the students’ exceptional contributions to UC Irvine at the Commencement ceremony with an achievement cord, recognition in the commencement program and a certificate.
Graduating seniors with a GPA of 3.5 or higher and an outstanding record of involvement in, and contribution to, the campus community are eligible for the honor. There is no limit to the number of qualified students who can apply, and up to five recipients will be named per school or academic unit. The selection process will be coordinated by the UC Irvine Alumni Association and the recipients will be selected by a committee of alumni volunteers. The deadline for applications is Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 4:00pm PDT.
Recipients of the award will be notified in May and personally invited to join in a celebratory dinner in June.
