Winter 2016 Program
The UCI Alternative Break Program places teams of college students in communities to engage in community service and experiential learning during their winter break. Students perform short term projects for community agencies and learn about issues such as literacy, poverty, education, hunger, homelessness and the environment.

Deconstructing Immigration- San Diego, CA
It Takes a Village: Education in Underserved Communities- Los Angeles, CA

2017 Costa Rica Program
The 2017 Costa Rica Program: Global Sustainability and Cultural Immersion is accepting applications. 14 UCI students will be selected to participate in this alternative break and service-learning academic program focused on exploring global environmental sustainability and cultural immersion.
Applications are due Wednesday, November 2th at 11pm. Students must be able to enroll in the winter and spring classes and be available to travel to Costa Rica the entire spring break (March 24-April 2, 2017). The total cost of the program is $1,500.
