Junior Meeting Reminder
Attention CHP Juniors! If you are planning to graduate spring, summer, or fall, 2011, then now is the time to meet about research/thesis plans and senior year! Regardless of the status of your research/senior plans, this mandatory meeting will provide information that will be of great value to you in the upcoming quarters, as the meeting covers both the CHP research requirement and graduation. As there are many steps in the research/thesis process, we encourage you to begin working on them as soon as you are ready. Please set up a meeting as soon as possible this quarter by emailing honors@uci.edu with some dates and times you are available, or by calling the honors office at (949) 824-5461, or even by coming in to the office.
Faculty Coffee Hour Greeters
Faculty Coffee Hour is coming up this quarter in Week 7 (November 13), and we need greeters for the event! Being a “greeter” means being willing to come in to Coffee Hour (any amount of time is appreciated, though we love having people stay for the full 2 hours!) and talk with the professors who walk in. It’s a great opportunity to meet new professors, possibly find a faculty mentor, or just take advantage of one of the many ways CHP can foster student/faculty interactions! CHP T-Shirt Design
Do you have an idea that would make a great CHP t-shirt? Well, now is your chance to share it with the world! Submit a high quality image of your design to Jeff (jfulkers@uci.edu) by November 6th (Friday of Week 6). After all submissions have been received, online voting will ensue, and the winner will be announced on November 13th (Friday of Week 7).
Be as creative as possible! Do try to limit the number of colors in your design though, and hang on to your original files because if your design wins, we will be asking you for the file in Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop format. Good luck!
