I studied environmental engineering and got my BS and MS from Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. I then went to the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and got a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science. After a short period of PostDoc experience at JPL, I joined UC Irvine in 2008.
I studied many aspects of wildfires, with the main focus on the characterization of fires using remote sensing data and the relationships between climate/weather and fire occurrences.
Fun Fact
I love maps.
