Program Requirements

Minimum requirements:

• Must be an Engineering major (list of UCI Undergraduate Majors):
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Biomedical Engineering
  • Aerospace Engineering
  • Computer Engineering
  • Environmental Engineering
  • Materials Science Engineering
• Completion of at least three full academic years of study at home university
• Cumulative GPA equivalent to or above 3.2-3.3 on a 4.0 scale, please check detailed requirement with your university
• Proof of English proficiency, 85 TOEFL or 7.0 IELTS
• Recommended by home university

Note: Freshman and Sophomores are encouraged to study the English language prior to applying for the 3+2 program. English proficiency is required to be prepared for academic studies and life in the U.S.  Your application will be reviewed comprehensively.  Reaching the minimum requirements will not guarantee your admission to the program.
