Are you rushed getting to class? Tired of walking home from main campus? Don’t worry, UCI shuttles can give you a safe and fast ride. University of California, Irvine’s transit system is called Anteater Express and it can help you move to various places on and off the UCI main campus. It is convenient and most of the lines are free during the academic year.
Different colors indicate different routes and the color on the sign board at each stop indicates this line stops at this location. M line is the one that most often used since it runs around the main campus and on-campus housing apartments. N, A, H, V, and C lines accommodate students living in University Town Center and ACC apartments. S line and D line charge passengers at a relatively low price to go to Irvine Spectrum and district.
Although most of the lines are available during academic year, only Hs line and Ws line operates during summer session and passengers need to buy a summer pass or pay for a one way ride each time. There will be a “Not in Service” sign at each stop of the unavailable lines. So pay attention to the signs around stops to avoid wasting time.
Anteater Express offers multiple digital resources to provide shuttle tracking, bus arrival predictions, schedules, and maps. Online GPS information and other resources can be easily found on the Anteater Express website. Downloading the mobile app is also a great way to have access to all the shuttle information. (Example: ucirvine 501), then you will get the estimated arrival time for that stop.
Please remember to allow passengers to exit the bus before boarding and never enter from the rear door. Every shuttle driver is friendly and trustworthy, please don’t hesitate to say thank you when you exit the bus.
