In this week’s message, we will provide you with information to help you complete a few tasks on the Pre-Arrival Checklist including setting up your UCI Gmail, and reviewing Electronic Educational Environment (EEE) and Zotportal.
Activate Your UCInetID
In order to access course websites, student information, email, and other online services at the University, you must activate your UCInetID. Many online services, including UCI Google Apps and Gmail, EEE, and WebReg require your UCInetID and password to log in. Your UCInetID is for your individual use only. It is recommended that you activate your UCInetID as soon as possible so you can retrieve emails and notifications. Follow the instructions on the Office of Information Technology (OIT) website.
Your UCI Gmail Account
All students have a UCI Google (Gmail) account. By default, your emails will be delivered there. Your email address is based on your UCInetID and ends with “@uci.edu.” It is important to use this address for official communication with the University, faculty, and staff. You can customize your delivery points and link your account to mobile devices. Follow the instructions to set up your email account.
Electronic Education Environment (EEE)
EEE is UCI’s course management system and allows you to access your course schedule, class websites, grades, and other instructional technology tools. Familiarize yourself with EEE and customize your homepage: https://eee.uci.edu/
ZotPortal
ZotPortal brings together several campus tools and services into one simple-to-use place. As a user you have your own personalized view which you can customize to your needs. Take the time to familiarize yourself with ZotPortal: https://portal.uci.edu/
There are a variety of resources available to you online that can help with your arrival. Continue to complete items on your Pre-Arrival Checklist and let me know if you have questions.
We will contact you again next week with additional information to help you prepare for your arrival.
Sincerely,
