Hi fellow anteaters. I hope your transition to UCI continues to be amazing!
With thanksgiving and Christmas just around the corner, I am sure everyone is wondering what to do.
Beyond Borders:
International students have the opportunity to go to an American home to experience the traditions and customs of the American holidays like Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Beyond Borders is a group that connects international student with local hosts for activities such as Halloween and Christmas. There are also limited pick up and drop facilities offered for these events.
So keep an eye out for e-mails asking you to sign up for the Thanksgiving and Christmas Events.
They provide a good platform to meet new people and learn about their cultures and customs.
Thanksgiving:
Lunch at the Pippin commons with rest of the anteaters is one fun way to experience Thanksgiving at UCI.
Black Friday and Cyber Monday are the major highlights of the thanksgiving break. So gout and experience some midnight shopping madness at the various outlets in Irvine!
Christmas:
Christmas is by far the most fun holiday of the year. With almost a month long vacation, there’s abundance of time to relax and enjoy Christmas festivities in and around Irvine.
Newport Beach/Balboa Island: The various homes on the island are decorated splendidly with lights and baubles for Christmas. An evening stroll around the island is a must during the Christmas season.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your quarter and experience various cultures and customs of the holiday season.
