Graduate school can be both overwhelming and stressful. If you are stressed and don’t take steps to help relieve your stress, it can begin to affect your health and the quality of your work. Use the tips below to help you de-stress, feel better, and continue to do well in school!
- Play your favorite tunes and dance: Dancing makes you feel better, lowers stress, and increases self-esteem. So blast your favorite song and get to dancing!
- Get Physical: Engage in some form of physical activity. Go for a run, take a yoga class, or participate in any other form of exercise that you enjoy!
- Eat! Sometimes when we are overwhelmed with work and life we forget to eat. Make sure you are eating healthy meals and snacks throughout the day to maintain your energy and help keep you focused.
- Socialize! Arrange a get together with friends you enjoy spending time with. Being around others and socialize can help to relieve stress.
- Breathe! You read that correctly, stop and take a deep breath. Taking deep breaths or doing breathing exercises can help you de-stress
