Hello Anteaters,
As you are gearing up for your Fall Quarter, you will find a lot of confusions about housing! Hope this post helps you choose an affordable off-campus housing option.
Between classes, studying, clubs and other extracurricular activities, work, friends, and everything in between, we know that campus life can get a little hectic. It might be an underrated and overlooked thing, but living comfortably near campus where everything takes place is a huge advantage while you are in college. Thankfully, there are plenty of nearby UCI off-campus housing options that you can take advantage of. Many of the following apartment communities are walking distance to UCI and University Center. They even provide amenities tailored to the college student with study rooms and business centers that are even open late during finals time.
In spite of so much activity on-campus and rather liberal rules, many grad students tend to live off-campus. It affords them a way more luxurious space and privacy, and since Irvine is so crime-free, safety isn’t an issue either. The closer you live to campus the more expensive rents get, but transportation isn’t too much of a problem even if you choose to stay a bit further away.
Check out the best UCI off-campus housing options below:
Dartmouth Court, Ambrose, Park West Apartments, Rancho San Joaquin Apartments, Turtle Rock Apartments, Huntington Beach, Vista Del Campo, Stanford Court and Berkeley Court are some of the common areas students reside in, but there are a plethora of options, really. Take a look around, see what you like, see what you can afford more importantly, and you’re sorted.
You can also visit the following website for UCI off-campus housing:

Generally, the monthly rent varies from 515-715 USD per month for a shared room and double the amount for a single private room.
Hope this helps! Feel free to reach out if you need anything from my end!
