After your arrival in the U.S., the first thing that you will probably have to deal with is getting to your home from the airport. If you already have your family/friends here and they can give you a ride then great – one less thing to worry about. Otherwise, you can follow the guide below to figure out which option suits you the best. The airports closest to Irvine are LAX and SNA and there are multiple options for ground transportation from these airports to Irvine.
LAX
Shared Ride Vans: This is probably the cheapest option if you are looking to save money. Two shared ride van companies, Prime Time Shuttle and Super Shuttle, operate out of LAX and serve all throughout Southern California counties (including Orange County). You are encouraged to contact the companies first to set up your pick up time, pick up location, number of luggage, your destination, and more detail information. These vans pick up passengers on the Lower/Arrivals Level in front of each terminal. Please look for signs that read “Shared Ride Vans” at terminal curbside near the exits from baggage claims areas.

Rental Cars: Rental Car offices are located off airport, away from airline terminals. The following rental car companies are authorized to pick-up and drop-off their customers at the airline terminals using courtesy shuttles. These companies meet arriving customers under the purple sign “Rental Car Shuttles” on the Lower/Arrivals Level islands outside baggage claim.
