TRANSPORT FROM AIRPORT TO CAMPUS

Post arrival in the US, the first important thing to do is to arrange travel plans from the airport to the campus or to your home. If you have any friends or relatives to pick you up at the airport, that would be convenient. But, if not, there are many options for transportation from John Wayne airport (SNA) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) which are the two nearest airports to Irvine in order. This blog post will cover details about the various transportation options available to travel from SNA or LAX to Irvine.

Transport from SNA to Irvine

Shuttle service: There are shuttles available from the arrival level terminal of John Wayne Airport. The shuttle can be booked online from the airport website prior to your travel. Another option for booking the shuttle can be done on the spot with shuttle coordinators at the kiosk present in the airport.

Taxi Service: John Wayne Airport Yellow Cab service offers taxicab service. It can be found at the Ground Transportation Center (GTC) on the Arrival lower levels at Terminals A and B. Uber/Lyft: Download the app on your smartphone, sign up and create a new account. Set the method of payment and book a cab once you land. The pick-up spot would be at the Uber/Lyft pickup spot at the Upper level.

Transport from LAX to Irvine

Shared Ride Vans/Shuttle Service: The most economical way to travel from LAX to Irvine would be to take the shared ride vans that head from the airport to different places in Irvine. The such shared ride vans companies are Prime Time Shuttle and Super shuttle. Another option that is available is Shuttle To LAX.

These services are available through Southern California regions. You must first contact the company to set up your pick-up time, destination, number of bags and other information regarding your travel. These vans pick up the travelers from the Arrival levels (lower) of the terminals. There will be signs indicating the pick-up regions for these specific shared rides. Taxi Service: Yellow cab taxis can be availed from the Arrival terminals on the lower level of the airport of each terminal. There will be a yellow sign indicating Taxis location. Tickets will be provided to the passengers indicating the approximate fares to all major destinations.

Car Rentals: Rental Car offices are located a small distance off the airport, away from the airline terminals. These companies contact the arriving customers at the region under the purple sign ‘Rental Car Shuttles’ at the Arrival terminal in the lower levels outside baggage claim. The following rental car companies have authorization to pick-up and drop-off their customers at the airline terminals using shuttles

The following rental car companies require their customers at the Remote Rental Car Depot at the intersection of Century and Airport Boulevard. These customers should board LAX shuttle buses marked “G-GREENLINE” under the blue sign LAX Shuttle – Airline Connection.
