When it comes to vegan food, Orange County has a lot of options. Since I’m transitioning into a vegan lifestyle, it is very important for me to find vegan options wherever I go.
First off, coffee! Almost all cafes around UCI including Starbucks have plant-based milk options like oat and almond milk. If you are a cappuccino lover like me, you won’t have to worry about not getting your favorite plant-based milk.
If you like making your own food, you can check out Whole Foods and Albertsons, which arequite close to the UCI campus. There is a wide variety of vegan food at both places. You can find vegan meat, cheese, and a lot of other things. It is definitely a cheaper option than
eating out.
However, if you like eating out, there are also a lot of restaurants you can check out
have the best vegan chicken skewers and Pad Thai.
Indian Vegan Cafe is a really good option if you’re looking to eat spicy vegan food. All their
options are quite nice, my personal favorite is the chickpea curry and pakoras. Coming from
Pakistan, it is important for me to find food that reminds me of home. This place does a good job
doing that.
Finally, my favorite fast food restaurant, Nice Burger! It is in Costa Mesa and they have the best
burgers ever! All their burgers are vegan and they make killer vegan dips as well. It is not that
expensive and you’ll leave with a happy belly. Whenever I’m in Costa Mesa, I make it a point to
go there.
