Welcome!
UCI Graphic Narratives is the interdisciplinary home for events, workshops, research, analysis, and study of graphic narratives from across the globe.
We promote research on graphic storytelling that ranges from pre-colonial codices to contemporary comics and graphic novels, through events with local and guest speakers and a reading group open to faculty, students and staff at UCI and beyond.
We are equally interested in promoting and supporting the creation of graphic narratives and comics scholarship through the offering of workshops. We offer discussions of works-in-progress in the medium of comics by faculty and other members of the community. If you are working on a comics essay, a graphic novel or any other genre of graphic narrative, and you want to workshop your work, please reach out to our team.
Most of our events are on the second Wednesday of each month at 5pm so mark your calendars 🙂
