Evidence to Action Awards for UC and CSU Faculty

The California Initiative for Health Equity & Action is committed to supporting the translation of research into California state health policy.  Previously, Cal-IHEA supported UC and CSU investigators through 12-month Evidence to Action awards (up to $35,000 in direct total costs for a project up to 12 months duration) to expedite the uptake of evidence-based practices, interventions, and policies to appropriate end-users.  The Evidence to Action Award supports the dissemination of research results using a “change package” to improve the use of evidence generated by UC and CSU faculty in state policy decision-making.  Each project’s change package is unique, but may include policy briefs, toolkits, implementation guides, training curriculum, videos, checklists, dissemination and promotional materials, health education materials, evaluation tools, etc.

Previously funded projects were in two areas: Improving Immigrant Health and Addressing the Social Determinants of Health through Cross Sector Collaboration.
